About Me

Hi! I'm Lynda K. Roper. The "K" stands for Knepper, my maiden name, just in case old classmates click in and wonder whatever happened to me. My passion is knitting doll clothes. When I couldn't find a pattern I wanted to make, I began designing my own. The first patterns I professionally sold were for Barbie. They appeared in a 1979 "Woman's Day" craft magazine. My most recent professionally published doll clothes can be found in KNITTING IN THE ROUND, a book published by House of White Birches in 2004. You can also find my patterns in Pattern-a-Day knitting calendars. In 1995, I began self publishing my doll knits for popular dolls. Each year since, I've published additional patterns. They're all here on this web site, thanks to my daughter Virginia Roper who is a professional web designer (and doesn't she do a terrific job?).

My patterns are a little different from what you may have recently purchased elsewhere. For the most part, I like to knit in one piece from the top down, with as few seams as possible. Please look over what I have to offer, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Happy Knitting!
